Proceeds benefit Uplifting Athletes, Inc.
The student-athlete led Penn Chapter of Uplifting Athletes is using college football as a platform to shine a spotlight on the Rare Disease Community by holding a Touchdown Pledge Drive on November 17th, 2018 in its Rare Disease Awareness game against Ivy League rival Princeton.
The October Penn Football schedule consists of games at Sacred Heart on 10/6, against Columbia on 10/13, against Yale on 10/20, at Brown on 10/27. This years Penn Chapter Touchdown Pledge Drive also includes a special Uplifting Athletes Rare Disease Awareness Game taking place 11/17 at Princeton. For all of these games combined fans can support the Penn Quakers by making a pledge for each touchdown they score. As the games unfold, watch and cheer as each touchdown scored helps raise money to support the Rare Disease Community.
The proceeds from our 2018 Touchdown Pledge Drive support the mission of Uplifting Athletes and its charitable programs: Rare Disease Awareness, Rare Disease Research, Uplifting Experiences and Uplifting Leaders.

Make a Pledge for each touchdown the Quakers score during their Touchdown Pledge Drive. We are projecting our team to score 12 touchdowns total!
Moved by former Quakers wide receiver Kaleb Germinaro, who lost his playing career to a rare disease, Dr. David Fajgenbaum, a Castleman’s Disease Researcher who has the disease himself, and Vhito Decapria, a 7-year-old team captain and brain cancer survivor, the Penn Chapter started tackling rare diseases when it joined Uplifting Athletes in 2015.
Uplifting Athletes is a national nonprofit that inspires the Rare Disease Community with hope through the power of sport and empowers medical researchers to find cures. A rare disease is one that affects fewer than 200,000 Americans and consequently lacks financial incentive to make and market new treatments. Founded in 2007, Uplifting Athletes has college football student-athlete led chapters nationwide in FBS and FCS programs including half the schools in the Big Ten and ACC conferences.
Thank you for your support of the Penn Chapter and the Rare Disease Community. Every little bit helps. Please don’t forget to share our Touchdown Pledge Drive campaign and your support on social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.)
