A message from Karekin Brooks:

I'm participating in "Penn Lift For Life 2019: Team 4th Quarter" and am asking you to support me by pledging per pound during my fundraising campaign. I believe in this cause and I'm excited to earn your support with every pound. Please help me reach the campaign goal of $1,000 by pledging now. I really appreciate your support. Thank you!

We are competing in the 2019 Penn Lift for Life and need your help!

The 2019 Penn Chapter Lift For Life is coming up and Team 4th Quarter is proud to dedicate our performance in support of Uplifting Athletes and its mission to inspire the Rare Disease Community with hope through the power of sport. The Lift For Life for the Penn Chapter will take place at the team’s strength and conditioning facility during their annual lifting competition, the Iron Quaker.

Team 4th Quarter consists of these current Penn Football players: Jeff Gibbs, Evan Carp, Sean Boles, Gavin Geib, Sebastian Sanchez, Abe Willows, John Quinnelly, Garrett Morris and Justin Sands.

Lift For Life is the signature fundraising event for the Penn Chapter. Lift For Life is an event held by our fellow college football student-athlete brothers at other universities across the country who have joined the Uplifting Athletes nationwide network of chapters.

The Iron Quaker started in 2007 and serves as the final workout for the Penn football team during winter conditioning.

Our Lift For Life as part of the 13th annual Iron Quaker is scheduled for February 23rd at 10:00 a.m. The event is private this year

The challenges faced by the Rare Disease Community are bigger than any one individual, team or organization can tackle alone. Here at Penn we take pride in the opportunity to shine a spotlight on rare diseases and support Uplifting Athletes.

The Penn Chapter

Moved by former wide receiver Kaleb Germinaro, who lost his playing career to a rare disease , Dr. David Fajgenbaum, a Castleman’s Disease Researcher who has the disease himself, and Vhito Decapria, a 6-year-old team captain and brain cancer survivor, the Penn Chapter started tackling rare diseases when it joined Uplifting Athletes in 2015.

About Uplifting Athletes

A nonprofit organization founded in 2007, Uplifting Athletes inspires the Rare Disease Community with hope through the power of sport. A rare disease is one that affects fewer than 200,000 Americans and typically lacks financial incentive to make and market new treatments.

Uplifting Athletes fulfills its mission through a network of college football student-athlete led chapters, Uplifting Ambassadors and Team UA participants. Since its inception, Uplifting Athletes has raised more than $4.5 million in support of the Rare Disease Community with a third of that, $1.5 million, given to fund rare disease research.

Thank You!

Thank you for your support of the Penn Chapter and the Rare Disease Community. Every little bit helps. Please don’t forget to share this campaign and your support on social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.)

Team 4th Quarter
