We are competing in the 2019 Notre Dame Lift for Life and need your help!

We, the members of Team Kareem, are proud to dedicate our Lift For Life performance in support of Uplifting Athletes and its mission to inspire the rare disease community with hope through the power of sport.

Fans and supporters can make a pledge for the total number of max leg press repetitions across our entire team. The goal for Team Kareem is 400 repetitions during our Lift for Life competition.

The Lift For Life Team Kareem includes the following members of the 2019 Notre Dame Fighting Irish: Ademilola JU, Allen, Assaf, Gibbons, Griffith, Jones Jo, Kareem, Moala, Oghoufo, Rittman, Robertson, Wilkins, Heemswoth, Clark, and Liufau.

Lift For Life is the signature fundraising event for the Notre Dame Chapter and our fellow college football student-athlete brothers who have joined the Uplifting Athletes nationwide network of chapters.

Our Lift For Life is scheduled for Friday, July 19th. The event is private this year.

Today, the challenges faced by the rare disease community are bigger than any one individual, team or organization can tackle alone. Here at Notre Dame we take pride in the opportunity to shine a spotlight on rare diseases and support Uplifting Athletes.

Please join our team by making a pledge today!

The Notre Dame Chapter

The Notre Dame Chapter started tackling rare diseases in 2012 when it joined Uplifting Athletes. The student-athlete led Notre Dame Chapter was started by former Fighting Irish linebacker Joe Schmidt and serves the Rare Disease Community in honor of rare disease patient Sam Grewe.

Diagnosed with the rare disease osteosarcoma in 2011 as a teenager, Grewe is a huge Fighting Irish fan and the Notre Dame football program formed a close relationship with Grewe as he battled his rare disease.

About Uplifting Athletes

Uplifting Athletes is a national nonprofit that inspires the rare disease community with hope through the power of sport and empowers medical researchers to find cures. A rare disease is one that affects fewer than 200,000 Americans and consequently lacks financial incentive to make and market new treatments.

Founded in 2007, Uplifting Athletes has college football student-athlete led chapters nationwide in FBS and FCS programs including half the schools in the Big Ten and ACC conferences.

The Notre Dame Chapter was started in 2012 by former Fighting Irish linebacker Joe Schmidt. We serve the rare disease community in honor of rare disease patient Sam Grewe. Diagnosed with the rare disease osteosarcoma in 2011 as a teenager, Grewe is a huge Fighting Irish fan and we formed a relationship with Sam that inspired us to make rare diseases a priority.
