Friends and fans–
Since January 2013, The Refuge Home in St. Louis has provided services to more than 160 victims of sex trafficking and abuse. The program incorporates a holistic approach to rehabilitation: Crisis Aid works closely with federal and local law enforcement officials to identify and refer victims. The girls are provided a safe and loving home with their own bedroom, and receive services and opportunities including basic care, professional counseling, medical and mental health care, life skills programs, and educational opportunities.
I recently learned that there are only 10 beds in all of St. Louis that provide this level of care for child victims of sex trafficking. I would love to see us step up and raise $100,000 towards this cause this year. This amount would allow the Refuge Home to hire two more staff and take in four more children. That's four more children that will have hope, and that can develop at their own pace. The goal is to see each of these children gain a high school diploma or GED, and they can stay as long as they need to receive care they need to get back on their feet in a safe environment.
