Maryland Touchdown Pledge Drive

The University of Maryland Chapter of Uplifting Athletes is looking to turn touchdowns into rare disease research dollars.

In order to support the Terps’ chosen rare disease, cystic fibrosis, the Maryland Chapter is holding a Touchdown Pledge Drive on November 29.

For the home game at Byrd Stadium against fellow Big Ten East Division foe Rutgers, each touchdown the Terps score will support cystic fibrosis research.

Fans can support the football student-athlete led Maryland Chapter by making a donation through their online Touchdown Pledge Drive site.

The Maryland Chapter chose cystic fibrosis in support of former Terrapins quarterback Boomer Esiason, who has a son affected by the disease. Earlier this year, the Maryland Chapter raised $12,412 for cystic fibrosis research during its Lift For Life event.

Uplifting Athletes is a national non-profit organization aligning college football with rare diseases and raising them as a national priority through outreach, research, education and advocacy.

Each of the 25 student-athlete led chapters nationwide raises research funds and brings awareness to their chosen rare disease through a Lift For Life fundraiser.
