Losing it for the homeless

On October 28th, 2017 I went to the ER with chest pains thinking I was having a heart attack. 3 days in the hospital and several tests later it was determined I have Hyper Tension, Diabetes and a Stiff Heart (which is likely attributed to both of the other two conditions) At over 550 pounds it is time to make serious changes in my life so I can better serve the Lord and the ministry he has placed me in.

All pledges and one time donations will go directly to NextStep Ministries, a local ministry in Clark County NV that specifically serves the homeless community. Each week we serve a hot meal to the homeless 3 times a week in local parks, we provide shoes, clothes and jackets throughout the year at the services. At each service we proclaim Jesus as the only way to salvation. On Monday evenings we bring members of the homeless community into our Men’s Sober Living home to take showers, do their laundry, share in a large home cooked meal and study the word of God. For Thanksgiving and Christmas we host traditional meals at our sober living home, give out gifts, haircuts, laundry, showers, blankets, clothing, hygiene kits etc. Upwards of 40 people attend these events at the home.

To see the joy it brings to the faces of the men and women who attend after having a chance to have a fresh hair cut, fresh clothes and a hot meal is priceless.

The ministry has been operating in the Henderson/Las Vegas area for near 12 years now and has been a beacon of hope for thousands over the years. We have seen people come to the Lord, gain employment and housing over the years.
