The Alaska Airlines Inflight Department is hitting away at childhood cancer by rooting on and supporting Robinson Cano. Alaska Airlines Inflight employees have the opportunity to support G1ve a Buck’s important mission of finding a cure for childhood cancers by fundraising and pledging for every hit that Robinson Cano has from May through July. We're estimating 90 hits.

A MESSAGE FROM YOUR BASE MANAGER

Hi LAX Team,

We have a great opportunity for us to help give back this summer to “Strong Against Cancer” research that is being done through Seattle Children’s Hospital, called “Pledge It”. For the next 3 months, starting in May, we have a chance to participate by raising funds for this cause. In the spirit of fun while working towards a great cause, we are going to have a friendly competition with the other bases and see which base can raise the most money to help kick Childhood Cancer.

Robinson Cano of the Seattle Mariners will be raising money for this cause every time he makes a hit during this time. All participants will have the opportunity to pledge!

You will have the ability to set up FA teams and communicate using social media posts and email. All funds raised by teams will go directly to the overall ANC base page.

BONUS ALERT!

The FA who raises the most funds for this cause will win a trip for 2 (airfare, hotel for one night and tickets to the pregame event and game at Safeco Field on September 1, 2017).*

*While it is an experience for 2 at the game, only the employee will fly confirmed business travel to the event and back. If you choose to bring a guest, the guest will have to fly as a guest pass on your benefits.

ABOUT G1VE A BUCK

G1ve A Buck Fund is dedicated to making each child’s cancer journey shorter and less painful, reducing the negative treatment side effects and ultimately funding the research to find Kid Size Cures for childhood cancer.

Did you know that childhood cancer is the leading cause of death by disease? More children die of childhood cancer than all other diseases put together. It is a fact that each and every day 43 kids are diagnosed and 6 children will lose their lives to childhood cancer. Lack of funding is a huge issue. Since 1980, only three drugs have been approved that were specifically developed for children and two-thirds of those treated suffer long-term effects, including loss of hearing and sight, heart disease, secondary cancers, learning disabilities and infertility. While only 3.8% of the National Cancer Institute’s research budget is dedicated to childhood cancer research, 100% of proceeds raised through G1ve A Buck will be donated to raise public awareness and fund much-needed research. For this campaign, G1ve A Buck is partnering with Strong Against Cancer and all proceeds will go to fund the promising immunotherapy research currently taking place at Seattle Children’s Hospital.
