Cam Kitchen's Reps for Rare Diseases 2020

Due to COVID-19 and university closures, my Reps For Rare Diseases NFL Pro Day date has been cancelled.  Thank you to all of you who donated to support this great cause!

As I take a step toward my NFL dream, I’d like to use this opportunity to give back. I have committed my performance at the Delaware Pro Day to support Uplifting Athletes and its mission to inspire the Rare Disease Community with hope through the power of sport.

From my own personal experience, I understand the platform athletes have to make a difference and it is very important to me to make the most of this opportunity and use it to impact others. The Rare Disease Community has a special place in my heart, which is why I am here. When I was in high school, my dad was diagnosed with a rare disease, called cardiac sarcoidosis. I watched his life change before my eyes as he went to and from hospital visits, doctors’ appointments, at-home medical treatments, and such. Because of organizations, like Uplifting Athletes, who support the Rare Disease Community, my dad was able to watch me finish my high school career and be right by my side as I went on to play college football at the University of Delaware. Unfortunately, my father passed away right before my junior season, but I know that he was with me, at every single game, being my biggest fan. He has always been my reason why and having him with me through half of my college career was something that I will cherish for the rest of my life. Today, I am here, in hopes that you will help me make a positive impact on the 30 million Americans affected by rare diseases by supporting my campaign!
