Justin Reid Leaping for St. Jude

THIS IS BIGGER THAN FOOTBALL

Growing up as a kid, I was blessed to have phenomenal mentors and coaches at every stage of my life that have been huge impacts on my character and success. I understand firsthand the impact that having quality role models can have for kids. Because of this, I want to make a difference in the communities around me whenever I can.

In October of last year, I had the opportunity to visit Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital on Stanford’s campus and play with some of the strongest, most inspirational kids I’ve ever met. Some of these kids have been in the hospital for years without ever leaving. However, the smiles and fun these kids still had playing with my teammates and I really spoke to me. I particularly bonded with a little girl named Asia that I met and at the end of our designated playtime, we traded signatures. I signed her shirt and she signed the case on my phone that I still carry around with me today.

Because of Asia, as I take the next step toward my NFL dream, I have made an important decision to use my performance at the NFL Combine to support St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, and I will kick off my fundraiser with my own donation of $1000. Please join me by pledging a donation for every inch of my vertical leap on March 5th in support of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. I’ll be training extra hard knowing that with your pledges, every inch is more money raised for the mission of St. Jude: Finding Cures. Saving Children.
