Illinois Touchdown Pledge Drive

Recently hired interim head coach Bill Cubit inherited an Illinois offense that has the ability to put points on the board and should keep this team in most of its games.

Securing a second consecutive bowl bid is a realistic goal for the Illini.

The Illinois Chapter of Uplifting Athletes will be looking for the offense to come through with some of those touchdowns for its home game against Middle Tennessee State on September 26 by holding a Touchdown Pledge Drive.

Uplifting Athletes is a national non-profit organization with 25 chapters that support our mission to make a positive and lasting impact on the rare disease community through the power of college football.

Each touchdown the Illini score against Middle Tennessee State will benefit the student-athlete led Illinois Chapter and its efforts to raise awareness of and research funds for the rare disease acoustic neuroma.

The 2015 Illinois football team is asking its fans to make a pledge to support the student-athlete led Uplifting Athletes Chapter.

Formed in 2012, the Illinois Chapter is a champion for the rare disease acoustic neuroma. Former Illini offensive lineman Andrew Carter lost his playing career to this rare disease, but is a survivor and continues to support the Illinois Chapter by returning to Champaign for each Lift For Life event.

Earlier this year the Illinois Chapter doubled the amount it raised in 2014 for its Lift For Life and the Illini continue to be a strong advocate for the rare disease community and the rare disease it champions.
