Illinois Chapter Touchdown Pledge Drive '19, Where Every Fighting Illini Score Means More!
The student-athlete led Illinois Chapter of Uplifting Athletes is using college football as a platform to shine a spotlight on the Rare Disease Community by holding a Touchdown Pledge Drive throughout the month of October.
During Touchdown Pledge Drive month, the Illinois Fighting Illini play home games against Michigan and Wisconsin and travel to Minnesota and Purdue. Fans can support the team by making a pledge for each touchdown they score in all four games. We are projecting our team to score 12 touchdowns total! As the games unfold, watch and cheer as each touchdown scored helps raise money to support the Rare Disease Community.
The proceeds from our 2019 Touchdown Pledge Drive support the mission of Uplifting Athletes and its commitment to create Uplifting Experiences, fund Rare Disease Research, and expand Rare Disease Awareness.

The Illinois Chapter
The student-athlete led Illinois Chapter serves the Rare Disease Community in honor of Andrew Carter, a former Illini offensive lineman who battled the rare disease acoustic neuroma in 2011. Carter never played football again, but his fight inspired the Illinois football program to help Tackle Rare Diseases.
