Help us reach our goal!

We are so excited to announce that the Daniel Hand High School Outdoor Track and Field teams will be participating in Run Against Hunger’s first-ever Run-A-Thon from home from April 20-26. Run Against Hunger’s goal is to combat food insecurity caused by school closures of the COVID-19 crisis through running. All funds will go directly to No Kid Hungry, a nonprofit organization helping schools and community groups feed kids while schools are closed.

We would greatly appreciate your support in pledging to donate per mile or making one flat donation.  For example, if you pledge $1 and we run 30 miles during the Run-A-Thon, you’ll donate $30 to No Kid Hungry, which is equivalent to 300 meals.  If you pledge $0.25 and we run 100 miles during the Run-A-Thon, you’ll donate $25 to No Kid Hungry, which is equivalent to 250 meals.

During this Run-A-Thon, we hope to help decrease the number of meals missed. It is currently projected that students will miss over half a million meals due to school closures caused by COVID-19. With your help, we believe we can run down that number.

Thank you so much for your support and stay healthy!

All running during this Run-A-Thon will follow local, state and federal social distancing guidelines!
