Florida State’s offense has been consistent all season, putting up an average of 35 points a game for the Seminoles through the first half of the 2016 campaign.
The Florida State Chapter of Uplifting Athletes, led by President and starting center Alec Eberle, is counting on the offense to put a few touchdowns on the board November 11th for its 2016 Touchdown Pledge Drive to support the rare disease community when the Seminoles host Boston College for a Friday night game at Doak Campbell Stadium.
Each touchdown the Seminoles score against Boston College helps the student-athlete led Florida State Chapter continue its mission of using college football as a platform to inspire the rare disease community with hope through the power of sport.
The leadership team of the student-athlete led Uplifting Athletes Chapter and all the members of the 2016 Seminoles squad is asking fans to support their efforts by making a pledge through the Florida State online Touchdown Pledge Drive site at pledgeit.org/fsu16.
Proceeds from the FSU Chapter of Uplifting Athletes Touchdown Pledge Drive support rare disease research and patient focused programs in partnership with head coach Jimbo Fisher’s foundation, Kidz1stFund.
The challenges faced by the rare disease community are bigger than any one individual, team or organization can tackle alone. The grassroots effort of the Florida State Chapter, along with a nationwide network of teams, is uniquely positioned to educate and engage the local community and shine a spotlight on rare diseases.
The Florida State Chapter started tackling rare diseases in 2013 when it joined Uplifting Athletes. The student-athlete led Florida State Chapter serves the rare disease community in honor of the Fisher family.
Former FSU tight end Kevin Haplea started the Uplifting Athletes Chapter in Tallahassee. His inspiration came from Fisher and the battle one of his sons, Ethan, was enduring with the rare disease Fanconi anemia.
