Eleventh Element: 2019 Reps 4 Rescue

I’m excited to participate in the 2019 Reps for Rescue fundraiser to help support International Justice Mission. I will be attempting to complete all 350 reps of the workout in under 20 minutes. About Reps 4 Rescue

With the Crossfit community’s help, IJM has provided freedom to more than 4,000 men, women and children in 2017 alone. Each year multiple rescue operations have been funded through the Reps for Rescue WOD, bringing freedom to thousands of victims trapped in the brutal existence of human trafficking & other forms of violence against the poor. Over $40,000 has been raised since 2016.

Beginning in 2016, just outside D.C. at Jeff & Maggie Tincher’s Crossfit Reston, the idea was birthed to design a challenging partner WOD that in some way helped participants identify with the pain & suffering IJM’s clients experience and raise funds for rescue. Soon, other gym owners, moved by the the realities of human trafficking in our world, joined in by hosting the R4R workout at Invictus, Crossfit Hilliard/Eleventh Element, and elsewhere.

What is IJM?

IJM is a global organization that protects the poor from violence in the developing world. Our global team includes more than 750 lawyers, investigators, social workers and community activists. We fight modern-day slavery, sex trafficking and more through 17 field offices. We rescue individuals, one by one. That’s where our work starts. But that’s not where it ends. We’re also stopping the violence before it starts by helping local law enforcement, courts and communities sustainably protect vulnerable people.
