The Downingtown School District football programs, East and West, have joined together to make a difference in the rare disease community by holding an East vs. West Rivalry Touchdown Pledge Drive on October 28.
For this annual rivalry match-up at Kottmeyer Stadium, each touchdown scored that night benefits the rare disease community through Uplifting Athletes.
Fans of Downingtown East and Downingtown West can support their team by making a pledge to either the Cougars or Whippets through their online Touchdown Pledge Drive site.
Proceeds from the Downingtown East vs. West Rivalry Touchdown Pledge Drive supports Uplifting Athletes and its rare disease research and patient focused programs.
Uplifting Athletes is a national nonprofit that inspires the rare disease community with hope through the power of sport. A rare disease is one that affects fewer than 200,000 Americans and typically lacks financial incentive to make and market new treatments.
With a network of college football chapters run by current college football student-athletes that spans all major conferences, Uplifting Athletes has had an economic impact of more than $400 million on the rare disease community.
