I have been blessed to grow up and live the way I have. As a professional baseball player who takes his health very seriously, food and nutrition are a big part of my life. It hurts me to know that there are people around the world and even here in our country who are hungry and don’t have the basic necessities like clean drinking water. That’s why I’ve formed the Ahmed Family Double Play Fund, and why I’m pledging to donate $150 for every time my Arizona Diamondbacks team wins the rest of the 2017 season (starting August 7th).

The money raised will benefit Food For The Hungry’s campaign Striking Out Poverty, helping impoverished communities in the Dominican Republic.

HOW YOU CAN HELP

1. Pledge a donation for every D-Backs win from August 7th to the end of the season
2. Make a one-time flat donation

SPECIAL INCENTIVES

• The first 25 pledgers who pledge at least $2/win or donation total equals at least $50 will receive a Nick Ahmed signed baseball

• Anyone whose pledge or donation total equals at least $150 will be entered to win a Diamondbacks team signed baseball (1 available)

• Anyone whose pledge or donation total equals at least $250 will be entered to win a Diamondbacks team signed bat (1 available)

• Anyone whose pledge or donation total equals at least $1,000 will be entered to win a Batting Practice and Meet & Greet Package* (1 available):

  • Passes for 4 to watch the Diamondbacks take batting practice before a game at Chase Field
  • Meet and take a photo with Nick Ahmed
  • Nick Ahmed signed baseball
  • 4 tickets to the game

ABOUT THE AHMED FAMILY DOUBLE PLAY FUND

Nick and Amanda Ahmed established the Ahmed Family Double Play Fund in July of 2017. They are passionate about ending hunger for vulnerable children and delivering hope through projects and programs that empower and inspire children in need. Nick and Amanda are working to meet the physical needs of at risk kids and communities while also sharing the hope of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Combining their time, talents, personal contributions, fundraising efforts and partnerships, including the Arizona Diamondbacks Foundation, the Ahmed Family Double Play Fund will strive to end hunger for thousands of hungry children in Arizona, the Dominican Republic and beyond.

Through the Striking Out Poverty program, Food for the Hungry is working to bring an end to extreme poverty in the Dominican Republic. Food for the Hungry has worked since 1971 to serve the most vulnerable people on earth through purposeful relief and development. They offer access to life-changing resources such as clean water, medical aid, food, equal educational opportunities to girls and boys, vocational training and empowerment amid unimaginable hardships.
