I'm participating in "Davidson Lift For Life 2020: Porter's Platoon" benefiting Uplifting Athletes, Inc.. Please support me by pledging per rep during my fundraising campaign. I believe in Uplifting Athletes, Inc.'s mission and I'm excited to earn your support with every rep. Please help me reach the campaign goal of $1,625 by pledging now. I really appreciate your support. Thank you!
The 2020 Davidson Chapter Lift for Life is coming up and Team Porter’s Platoon is proud to dedicate our performance in support of Uplifting Athletes and its mission to inspire the Rare Disease Community with hope through the power of sport.
Fans and supporters can make a pledge for each rep our team averages in the trap bar deadlift. Our team goal is to 12 during our Lift for Life competition.
Lift For Life is the signature fundraising event for the Davidson Chapter. Lift for Life is an event held by our fellow college football student-athlete brothers at other universities across the country who have joined the Uplifting Athletes nationwide network of chapters.
Our Lift for Life is scheduled for November 12 at 10a.m. The event is private this year.
The challenges faced by the Rare Disease Community are bigger than any one individual, team or organization can tackle alone. Here at Davidson we take pride in the opportunity to shine a spotlight on rare diseases and support Uplifting Athletes.

How you can help
The proceeds from our 2020 Lift for Life support the mission of Uplifting Athletes and its charitable programs: Rare Disease Awareness, Rare Disease Research, Uplifting Experiences and Uplifting Leaders.
The Davidson Chapter started tackling rare diseases in 2017 when it joined Uplifting Athletes. Co-founded by former Wildcats George Hatalowich and Kevin Stipe, the duo was inspired by their own individual connections to the rare disease cause and made supporting the Rare Disease Community for the Davidson football program a priority.
At Davidson, we are also committed to being leaders in the fight for social justice. We know more diversity in healthcare means safer, healthier, and stronger communities. African-Americans make up 13% of the U.S. population yet, only 4% of US medical doctors are Black/African-American. The Hispanic and Latino population account for 17% of the US population but only .4% of U.S. medical doctors. Funds from this Lift For Life will help support Uplifting Athletes Underrepresented Minority Research Grant focused on influencing inclusion in medicine.
A nonprofit organization founded in 2007, Uplifting Athletes inspires the Rare Disease Community with hope through the power of sport. A rare disease is one that affects fewer than 200,000 Americans and typically lacks financial incentive to make and market new treatments. Uplifting Athletes fulfills its mission through a unique network of college football student-athlete led chapters, Uplifting Ambassadors and Team UA participants.
Since its inception, Uplifting Athletes has raised more than $5 million to support the mission of Uplifting Athletes and its charitable programs: Rare Disease Awareness, Rare Disease Research, Uplifting Experiences and Uplifting Leaders.
