Help us reach our goal to support our brother racing for us as well as providing services to our nations veterans and first responders!

We are honored that Dustin has offered to ride and raise donations to support our organization. His bio and information about our organization and what he is doing follows: Many of you may know me already, but for those who do not, my name is Dustin Ashe-Everest. I am a Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Army. I am currently stationed at Joint Base Lewis McChord in Washington. Previously I was stationed at FT. Campbell Kentucky. I have 2 combat deployments with the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), 3rd Brigade Combat Team (Rakkasans). I am an avid off-road and motocross racer. I have been riding since age 5 and racing competively for the past 15 years. I have raced the La Puerta off-road series out of Tecate Mexico, Ridge MX series, NMA and NORCS off-road series, as well as BITD (Best in the Desert) in the past. My amateur career highlights include a 1st place finish at the 2010 BITD Parker 250 (4 stroke amateur unlimited), 2nd overall finish during the 2017 Ridge MX Summer Series and a multitude of other podium finishes.

This August I will be soloing the longest off-road race in the United States, which is the famous BITD Vegas 2 Reno which comes in at about 550 race miles. I will be racing the ironman class aboard my 2016 KTM 450 SX-Factory Edition and will be funding this entire race completely out of my own pocket. I am attempting this feat in order to raise funds for a great Veteran/First Responder based Non-Profit organization, The Darkhorse Project. The Darkhorse Project is an organization that provides disabled veterans and first responders who have suffered physical injuries or psychological scars an opportunity to get back outside and start living life in a positive manner surrounded by the comradery of other like- minded individuals. The Darkhorse Project does this by providing veterans and first responders an opportunity to participate in hunting trips, fishing trips, Supercross and NASCAR tickets, being involved in the pit support of major off-road races such as the Baja 500 and a multitude of other outdoor activities.

Unlike many non-profits agencies that take advantage of the idea of helping veterans to only line their corporate pockets and provide minimal contributions to the actual cause they claim to support, that is not the case with this grassroots non-profit agency. This is a 501c3 non-profit organization that I have personally vetted myself. All donations go directly in the Darkhorse Project and the recreational activities they provide to disabled veterans and first responders.

Now, here is what I am asking of you! I am asking you to pledge a certain dollar amount for every race mile that I complete during this year’s Vegas to Reno race. The total length of the race will be between 535-550 miles that I will be racing entirely by myself. So if you donate $1.00 per mile and I complete all 550 miles, then your final donation will be $550. If I only complete 200 miles and you donated $.50 then your final donation will be $100. We are setting this up thru a Pledgeit.org online campaign. This is fully tax deductible and like previously stated I have personally vetted myself. Check them out on Instagram at darkhorseproject as well as on Facebook, I appreciate everyone’s support and look forward to forward to getting out into the desert and racing for a great cause.
