Football’s hard, but the things I went through growing up were definitely harder. It was a life and death situation. I was just 1½ years old when my family left the Congo in search of a better life. We stayed at a refugee camp in Cameroon before settling in Tennessee when I was about three. We had no friends or relatives in Tennessee when we first arrived. Watching the sacrifices my parents made taught him the power of perseverance.

That’s why, as I take the next step toward achieving my NFL dream, I have made an important decision to use my performance at the NFL Combine to support Food for the Hungry. I want to give back to children and families like mine that are going through hard times around the globe. The money raised from this campaign will specifically go to life saving services for African refugee families. Food for the Hungry is an amazing organization that seeks to end all forms of human poverty by going to the hard places and walking with the world’s most vulnerable people.
