Coaches vs. Cancer Suits And Sneakers Week (January 25-31, 2021) is a nationwide initiative uniting basketball teams across the country for a common cause - saving lives from cancer. This season, Lakewood Ranch High School Basketball is proud to announce that our Suits And Sneakers game against Braden River High School will support cancer research, services and awareness.
The fight against cancer hasn’t stopped despite COVID-19 and 1 in 3 Americans will get cancer in their lifetime. The American Cancer Society’s groundbreaking research, education and prevention measures have helped lower the risks of cancer. But, for many cancer patients, the care they need has been delayed, essential programs they rely on were suspended, and the groundbreaking research efforts that can lead to new breakthroughs received 50% less funding in 2020.
Let’s work together to help in the fight against cancer.
Make a contribution toward our Suits And Sneakers Game to help the American Cancer Society lead the fight for a world without cancer. Every Shot Counts. Every Life Counts.
You can follow us on the national leaderboard at SuitsAndSneakers.org. The top fundraising college and high school teams in the nation will be recognized as Suits And Sneakers Week National Champions!
Suits And Sneakers Week is the marquee initiative of Coaches vs. Cancer. Each season, college and high school basketball coaches across the nation wear sneakers with their suits during dedicated games to raise awareness and funds, while encouraging people to educate themselves about cancer prevention. Suits And Sneakers week is an opportunity for basketball teams to rally their communities and unite in the fight against cancer.
For over 25 years, the Coaches vs. Cancer program has united basketball coaches and fans nationwide in collaboration with the American Cancer Society and the National Association of Basketball Coaches to defeat a common enemy: cancer. With your passion and dedicated support, the impact has been felt in communities nationwide. Through fundraising and education initiatives, Coaches vs. Cancer has worked together with the Society to help increase the number of cancer survivors to more than 15 million strong. The fight isn’t over, and we need you on our team.
