I’m playing 100 holes of golf in one day (walking!) to support Youth on Course and need your support!

On September 25, I will be participating in a Hundred Hole Hike challenge to raise money and awareness for Youth on Course, which provides its members with access to golf for $5 or less, summer jobs through caddie and internship programs, and access to higher education through college scholarships.

I must say the idea of playing 100 holes in a day is pretty daunting. The most I’ve ever played in a day before was 45 holes when I was in college so this will definitely be a challenge. I’ll be playing from sunup to sundown, walking 25 miles, and taking hundreds of swings. It’ll be interesting to see how many birdies I make in this golf marathon. Of course, I have to make sure I get through 100 holes!

Now in its 11th year, Youth on Course operates in 17 states and is in the process of expanding nationally. Currently, Youth on Course serves more than 25,000 youth, providing access to affordable golf at 650+ participating facilities throughout the nation.

As the assistant coach for the Tam High Golf team the past three years, I’ve seen first hand the value of Youth on Course for pre-teen and teen golfers. Our players logged dozens of rounds at courses around the bay area for only $5 per round. Youth on Course made it possible for our kids to play many different courses they otherwise would not have been able to play. Golf, as you know, is an expensive sport and Youth on Course makes it much more accessible and affordable for kids and high school players.

To support Youth on Course, you can pledge any amount for each hole of golf I play. For example, if you pledge $1 per hole and I play 100 holes, that’s $100 towards Youth on Course. It will be a fun, but challenging day and your backing will help keep me going!
