RJ Lewis: Boys & Girls Club Trenton Half Marathon

Bill Sheehy (70) and I, (49) along with several other Trenton Rotarians, EO’ers (Entrepreneur’s Organization), and EHS’ers (eHealthcare Solutions team), are all running the Trenton Half Marathon on October 28th, 2017.

This is Bill running the Trenton Half Last Year…

We are doing it this year to can raise money for the Boys & Girls Club of Mercer County, NJ. All of the money will go to the Boys & Girls Club and part of it will be used to create a financial literacy and entrepreneurship program for the kids - something we feel strongly to be a value to a brighter future for these young ones.

The hardest part of running a marathon is finding the motivation to get up on a regular schedule and put in the training miles. There are a lot of them required. You need to run if it rains, is cold, windy, hot, have an early morning meeting, have to get the kids to school, what-ever competing life challenge you face - you still need to run the miles if you have any shot of completing the half. Please help motivate me, while supporting the boys & girls club, by pledging an amount per training mile (even it it’s only $0.10, every bit helps. If I get to my goal of over $6

3 (total pledged dollars) per training mile, it will be hard to not go for a run or log that extra mile knowing I’m helping the Boys & Girls of Mercer county raise $20,000 when I do it consistently. You only pay if I do the work and run the training miles. If I run less, you’ve committed less. If I run more, well then you’ve committed a little more (because I won’t be running much more).
