The NFL Network has featured the amazing story of Tom Pettry and the work of high school football teams across the country in Touchdowns Against Cancer, the nation's largest high school football charity program. Each September, communities unite in support of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month through this initiative created by Pledge It & MaxPreps, a CBS Sports Digital property.
In its 3rd season, Touchdowns Against Cancer unites high school football teams from across the country with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital for a common cause: Finding cures. Saving Children®. High school football fans and communities can donate for every touchdown their team scores in the month of September to benefit St. Jude.
“This is an amazing initiative that makes an impact and a difference. There are 60,000 touchdowns scored every Friday night in high school football. Fans out there can make a tremendous, powerful impact for families fighting childhood cancer by contributing to each one scored by your local team.” - Kay Adams, Host of Good Morning Football
Touchdowns Against Cancer engages thousands of athletes, coaches and football communities each year and has raised nearly $300,000 for St. Jude. Teams utilize Pledge It's performance-based crowdfunding platform to rally their communities to raise funding for a cause that affects families everywhere.
Pledge It is proud to continue our work of empowering athletes to support meaningful causes through their gameday performance with Touchdowns Against Cancer. We are inspired each season by the stories and tremendous efforts by high school football players & communities across the country.
"Knowing that my touchdowns mean so much more than just points on the board, it's really giving me the chance to save lives. It's really impactful on me." - Eric Gray, RB Lausanne Collegiate (TN)
