Every year, each MLB team nominates one player to be considered for the Roberto Clemente Award, which is given to the player who best honors Clemente's legacy by representing the game of Baseball through extraordinary character, community involvement, philanthropy and positive contributions, both on and off the field. The Kansas City Royals have named pitcher Danny Duffy as their 2018 nominee. As the Royals note, "his largest contribution has come from his work with Noah's Bandage Project."
Danny has utilized Pledge It's performance based platform to amplify and maximize his personal pledge of $500 per strikeout throughout the 2017 season, and $1,000 per K in 2018. Over the past two seasons, through his two Strikeout Out Childhood Cancer campaigns on Pledge It, in which fans and supporters have joined Danny by pledging for every strikeout that he records, Danny has raised over $285,000 for Noah's Bandage Project and their mission to end childhood cancer through awareness, support, and the gift of hope.
Pledge It is proud to continue to work with Danny Duffy in support of Noah's Bandage Project, and congratulates Danny on his much deserved nomination for the 2018 Roberto Clemente Award.
