On January 17, 2016 the Penn State women’s basketball program will hold its 10th Annual Pink Zone at Penn State game vs. Michigan and there is now a way for you to challenge the Lady Lion players while also raising money to support breast cancer education, treatment, and research for a cure.
A Pledge It campaign has been set up by Pink Zone at Penn State for you to donate money for each free throw made in a game by a Lady Lion player throughout the season, at home or on the road.
Here is how it works; visit PledgeIt.org/PinkZone2016 and click the green “Pledge Now” button to select your pledge level. You can select a predetermined pledge amount ($.10, $.20, $.50 or $1.00) or pledge an amount that you determine on a per-free throw basis. Then, your donation is based upon the number of in-game free throws made by the Lady Lion team this season.
You may also donate a flat amount for the entire season.
In the record books, the school standard for free throws made in a season came in 1984-85 when the Lady Lions converted 630 freebies. Over the past five seasons, Penn State has made an average of 488 free throws per year, including 350 made free throws on 552 attempts in 2014-15.
