On Rare Disease Day, a total amount Penn State's Anthony Zettel raised during "Reps for Rare Diseases" at NFL Combine

Rare Disease Day is held annually on the last day in February to raise awareness for a variety of diseases. This year, a former Penn State player indirectly helped celebrate it.

For the second year in a row, a onetime Lion used his NFL Combine platform to raise money for Uplifting Athletes. Tight end Jesse James did it at the 2015 scouting event, and this year, it was defensive tackle Anthony Zettel who used the combine's bench press as a fundraiser for the organization's "Reps for Rare Diseases" charity.

Zettel lifted the 225-pound bar 28 times on Saturday, and final numbers from UA indicate fans donated $6,159, or $219.97 per rep. Combined with James, the two-year total is over $10,000 for the campaign.
