Join The 162 HR Challenge! #162HRchallenge

We are excited to announce the 2018 “162 NY Yankee Home Run Challenge”. We invite you to pledge anywhere from $0.25 - $5.00 per Home Run that the NY Yankees hit this season.

What’s the story?

Yankee fanatics Steve Melia & Marybeth Longona will be attending EVERY NY Yankee game (all 162 + post season) this 2018 season. Yes, Home & Away! Steve embarked upon this journey in 2011 and wrote the book ‘162 The Almost Epic Journey of a Yankees Superfan’. The couple expects that the Yankees will go all the way to the World Series in 2018 and are excited to be there every step of the way.

So why the Home Run Challenge?

All of baseball will be watching the bombers explosive offense, and many fans (especially us SuperFans) believe they will break the all-time HR record of 264! What a great time to team up and raise some money for some great causes.

The proceeds for the “162 HR Challenge” will be divided between 4 charities that are near and dear to our hearts. We will be raising awareness as well as funds as we spotlight each charity and the good that they are doing in the community. Please help us spread the word by sharing this information with your friends, family and fellow fans ‘#162HRchallenge’. You can follow us and our journey at The162crew.com, our podcast: The 162 Experience and on social media ‘#162HRchallenge’.

What if I’m not a Yankee fan?

We won’t hold that against you. :-) We have purposely chosen three national and one international organizations that benefit millions of people that include non-baseball and non-Yankee fans. Even if you’re not a Yankee fan, you can feel good about supporting these great causes and these two crazy fans living out a dream. Either way you win.

Tell me more about the charities involved!

We’d love to! We are excited to announce 4 great charities that we are partnering with: (1) The National Fallen Firefighters Foundation (2) Fans for The Cure (3) The Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center & (4) Work, Play, Love

What’s in it for us fans?
